City-Wide Outage, Library Service Impacted

The City of Hamilton's cybersecurity-related outage that began on Sunday February 25, continues to Tuesday July 2. This outage affects Library services and some programs.

Public Wi-Fi is available at most branches except the Ancaster Branch.
Website log-in, self-check kiosks, sorters, public computers, and scanning are not available.
Some Makerspace services are available.
Printing via USB is now available on the 2nd Floor of Central Library and at the Ancaster, Barton, Red Hill, Terryberry, Kenilworth, Dundas, Westdale, Valley Park, Saltfleet, Stoneycreek and Turner Park branches.
Extended Access is cancelled. We are working with the City to restore these services.

Central Makerspace Vinyl Printer Out of Order

The Vinyl printer/cutter at the Central Makerspace is currently out of order for repairs. The printer is expected to be out of order for 1-2 weeks. We apologize for the inconvenience.

Waterdown Branch Makerspace Update

June 2023

The Waterdown Branch’s newly expanded Makerspace is now open. Digitize your memories from VHS to DVD, print large-scale promotional posters on the large format printer, or watch your 3D creations come alive with the 3D printer. Learn to sew or embroider with the sewing and embroidery machines, or design special greeting cards with the Cricut Explore 3 machine. Create cool buttons for your backpacks and lanyards using the 1.5” button maker.

A Grand Opening Week was held from July 3-7 where Staff provided demonstrations as all the Makerspace equipment was free for Members to test out.
