City-Wide Outage, Library Service Impacted

The City of Hamilton's cybersecurity-related outage that began Sun Feb 25 continues today, Wed April 18. This outage affects Library services and some programs. Website login, self-check kiosks, sorters, public computers, printing, scanning, Makerspaces are not available. Extended Access is cancelled. We are working with the City to restore these services and will provide updates as often as possible. Thank you for your patience.

Solar Eclipse Glasses - Return to HPL Branches

If you would like to donate your ISO safety solar eclipse glasses, return them to any HPL Branch or Bookmobile visit. HPL and McMaster University have teamed up with the Royal Astronomical Society of Canada - Hamilton Centre to collect and redistribute. Thank you for returning your glasses.

Board Meetings, Agendas and Minutes

Due to the impact of the cybersecurity incident, the Board Meeting on April 17 will be held in person only at Central Library. Livestreaming will not be available. A recording will be uploaded after the meeting has taken place.

Hamilton Public Library Board meetings are typically held on the third Wednesday of each month (except July and August) and are open to the public. They can also be publicly viewed via livestream using the corresponding event links in the schedule below. Links are posted at the time of each meeting. Board meetings are recorded.

Members of the public wishing to make a verbal or written delegation to the Library Board should contact the Board Secretary in writing seven (7) days in advance of the meeting using the contact information below. Meeting attendees must follow HPL’s Member and Service Commitment Policy.
