City-wide outage, library service impacted
HPL is recovering from the City of Hamilton's cybersecurity-related outage, which began Sunday February 25 and continues today. Learn more.
- Public computers are available at all branches. JAWS (Job Access With Speech) computers are not available
- Printing is available at all branches.
- Photocopying is available at all branches except for the Concession Branch.
- Scanning is not yet available.
- Public Wi-Fi is available at most branches except the Ancaster Branch.
- Makerspace services are available at select locations.

Print, Copy and Scan
Due to the ongoing cybersecurity incident that took place in February 2024, Library services are currently being restored. Thank you for your patience.
- Printing is available at all branches. Photocopying is available at all branches except for the Concession and Dundas branches.
- Scanning is not yet available.
HPL now offers wireless printing, in addition to our current printing, photocopying and scanning services at all branches. Check your account balance. Pay for prints online by credit card, or in branch by debit or credit card.
Printing from a Public Computer
- Letter (8.5 x 11) and legal (8.5 x 14) paper sizes are available for printing.
- Colour and black and white printing is available at all branches.
- For a limited time, Members can print 10 free pages in black and white per day.
Wireless Printing: Print on the Go
- Wireless printing is available at all HPL branches. See the list of acceptable formats.
- Print wirelessly from your device, either at the branch or from home.
- First time logging in or changed your PIN? Add your card.
- Simply use the Print on the Go portal to upload your document.
- Visit any branch (bring your card) to release your job. Please allow sufficient time before the branch close. Print jobs expire after 96 hours. See branch hours.

- For a limited time, Members can print 10 black and white prints per day or 4 colour prints per day for free. Your free daily prints appear as a dollar amount credited to your account balance. This credited amount expires daily.

Photocopying

Scanning
- Scanning is free and available at all HPL branches.
- You can use the photocopiers to scan documents and send them to your USB stick or Email.
- Suitable scans can be saved as PDF and JPG.
Lamination
Since March 13, 2023, self-serve lamination is available at Central Library (2nd floor), and the Dundas, Red Hill, Terryberry, Turner Park, Valley Park and Waterdown Branches. There is a $1.00 cost for an 8.5x11 lamination pouch. (Please note, the lamination of vaccine certificates is no longer free.)

HPL’s Makerspaces offer 3D printing, scanning, large-format printing, label-making, etc. Book your Makerspace appointment today.

0.25/ page for colour
For a limited time, Members can print 10 free pages in black and white per day. Each Member receives a daily balance of $1.00 CAD that can also be used towards colour printing.
