The digital microfilm machines at Central Library are not working. A single analog machine is available in the Local History and Archives Reading Room. This reader does not support printing. We apologize for the inconvenience and aim to have the digital devices repaired as soon as possible.

Daily print balances for black and white and colour printing change January 2, 2026. The new daily print balance is 40 cents. Members receive four free black and white copies or two free colour copies.

Bring back your borrowed library items within 28 days to avoid a replacement or lost fee. We'll remove the fee when you bring back your overdue items.
HPL now offers wireless printing, in addition to our current printing, photocopying, and scanning services at all branches. Check your account balance. Funds can be loaded online or in person, and prints can be paid in the branch by cash, debit, or credit card.
Members can now pay library fees or add funds to their Library account online using SmartPay, HPL’s secure online payment system.

Since March 13, 2023, self-serve lamination is available at Central Library (2nd floor), and the Dundas, Red Hill, Terryberry, Turner Park, Valley Park and Waterdown Branches. There is a $1.00 cost for an 8.5x11 lamination pouch. (Please note, the lamination of vaccine certificates is no longer free.)

0.20/ page for colour
Library Members receive $0.40 in free printing credit each day, which can be used for black-and-white or colour printing and photocopying. This credit resets daily and does not carry over.
