Renovations are currently underway for the 2nd Floor Central Children's Area. Programs are still being offered as scheduled and there is a temporary pop-up Children’s Area on the northeast side of the 2nd Floor (near the Piano Room), including access to collections and train tables. As of Monday, March 2, Sherwood Branch's 2nd Floor is closed due to renovations. Makerspace, Children and Teen's collection are temporarily available on the 1st Floor. Teen Tech Tutors
Volunteers with this program help older adults with computers/tablets in a classroom setting. The program runs over a series of dates at different branches.Tutor Qualifications
- 14-18 years of age
- Tech savvy and comfortable with computers
- Good communication skills
- Be reliable, patient and trustworthy
- Able to commit to the dates and times listed below
- Experienced or interested in working with older adults/seniors
Responsibilities
- Attend training sessions
- Provide assistance to adults learning new computer skills
- Provide positive feedback and encouragement
- All volunteers ages eighteen (18) and over must provide a recent Criminal Record and Judicial Matters Check
