Sherwood Branch: Renovations
As of Monday, March 2, Sherwood Branch's 2nd Floor is closed due to renovations. Makerspace, Children and Teen's collection are temporarily available on the 1st Floor. Exhibit: Enslaved Africans in Upper Canada
The Terryberry Branch of HPL will play host the to the Enslaved Africans in Upper Canada Exhibit provided by the Archives of Ontario and produced in partnership with the Ministry of Citizenship and Immigration.
In spite of the large role of Canada in the emancipation of slaves, many people do not know that slavery existed in Canada. This exhibit touches on the lives of enslaved African and focuses on the actions they took to resist their servitude.
The exhibit will be at the Terryberry Branch during January.
