Freedom to Read Week is an annual event that encourages Canadians to think about and reaffirm their commitment to intellectual freedom, a guarantee under the Charter of Rights and Freedoms.
Celebrate this important literary week with Hamilton Public Library. Visit the Tower of Banned Books at the Waterdown Branch, created by artist Kelly McCray, on display until March 10. The sculpture is built from hundreds of challenged and banned books, symbolizing the ongoing fight for intellectual freedom. Kelly speaks about the project at the Waterdown Branch on Wed Feb 25 at 6pm. Register to attend.
