HAMILTON, ON – October 21, 2016 – Hamilton Public Library launches its seven million challenge, calling on the help of customers to reach a 2016 circulation goal of seven million items borrowed by December 31, 2016.
HAMILTON, ON – October 5, 2016 – Hamilton Public Library (HPL) invites everyone to the official opening of an exciting historical exhibition, “Canadian Aviators help Warsaw during the Uprising ’44.” The exhibition is a tribute to Canadian airmen who died during the Second World War providing airlift for the Polish Home Army in occupied Poland and for Warsaw’s insurgents fighting for the liberation of Poland’s capital city.
HAMILTON, ON –September 22, 2016 – Hamilton Public Library and our community partners are celebrating the official launch of the Love Your City, Share Your Story digital storytelling project at an unveiling event on Friday, September 30. This event will take place in newly renovated Hamilton Room at the Central Library and will be an opportunity to thank the partners, donors and sponsors who have generously supported these projects.
HAMILTON, ON – September 28, 2016 – Hamilton Arts Council (HAC) and Hamilton Public Library (HPL) are partnering this year with Culture Days Ontario to bring Culture Days events to HPL.
Local artists and performers responded enthusiastically to our offer of free gallery, studio or performance space at library locations. Together, HAC and HPL are hosting a wide range of interactive cultural events this weekend.
Hamilton, ON -- Sept. 15, 2016: Seven outstanding citizens have been named to Hamilton’s Gallery of Distinction. The 2016 inductees include leaders from healthcare, the arts, local business, community service and sports. Each has made a lasting contribution to Hamilton. They will be inducted at the 33rd annual gala dinner on Tuesday, Nov.
