City-Wide Outage, Library Service Impacted

HPL is recovering from the City of Hamilton's cybersecurity-related outage, which began Sunday February 25 and continues today, Friday November 1. Learn more.

Public computers are available at all locations except Central Library's 2nd and 3rd Floors.
Printing is available at all branches. Photocopying is available at all branches except for the Terryberry, Concession, and Dundas branches. Scanning is not yet available.
Website log-in is available, access is restored to the catalogue, the HPL App is online, online eResources are available and Holds can be placed.
Public Wi-Fi is available at most branches except the Ancaster Branch.
Automatic check-ins are operating.
Makerspace services are available at select locations.

PreVIEW is your portal to our digital image collection. More than 13,000 images are available at present, with more being added all the time.

PreVIEW features images from many of our image collections, and depicts locations from all over the world, with a particular focus on Hamilton's local history. In fact, most of the images featured on the Local History & Archives website, which you are currently using, are freely available on PreVIEW.

The city of Hamilton's cybersecurity-related outage has affected some of HPL's services. Our online image database, PreVIEW, is unavailable, and we are not able to provide a timeline for its return. Some images, such as postcards, can still be found online on Flickr.
