The computer lab on the 1st floor at the Sherwood Branch is currently out of order. There are limited public comptuers available on the 2nd floor. Printing and photocopying is still available. We are working to resolve as soon as possible.
Due to day-long IT maintenance (7am-5pm), the following branches are closed on Sunday, June 22: Central Library, Dundas, Red Hill, Terryberry, Turner Park, Valley Park and Waterdown. Sunday service hours resume on Sunday, June 29.

The parking lot elevator at Terryberry Branch is not working. Members will need to use the accessible ramp at the Mohawk entrance and the inner elevator. We're working to get it fixed quickly.

The accessibility ramp at Mount Hope Branch is damaged. The handrail is not available. The ramp will not be available while being repaired. We aim to fix it quickly.

The digital microfilm machines at Central Library are not working. A single analog machine is available, but it doesn't print. We aim to have the digital devices repaired as soon as possible. We apologize for the inconvenience.

Interlibrary Loan Request
What is Interlibrary Loan?
If HPL does not own a copy of an item that a customer needs, the customer can request that we borrow the item from another library in Ontario or Canada.
Are there any restrictions?
We are unable to provide the following types of materials:
- New Books (24 Months); Bestsellers.
- Rare And Fragile Books.
- DVDs, Blu-rays and Games.
- Any item that is available for less than $5.00 through Amazon.ca.
- Articles that are available full-text through our online resources.
- eBooks and online resources.
Please note the following limitations:
- A limit of five (5) member requests per month.
- One title per request form.
- These requests usually take approximately four to six weeks to fill, and requests filled from outside of Ontario often take longer
- We cannot guarantee fulfillment by a certain date.
- Items borrowed through interlibrary loan cannot be renewed.
- Late and Replacement fees still apply to Interlibrary Loan material ($1.00 per day and $25.00 replacement fee.)
- This service is only available to members with an HPL Discovery (Resident) card.
