Bookmobile Frequently Asked Questions

Which Bookmobile stops are available for pickup and when?
Bookmobile stops are offered for weekly or biweekly pickup. Find a stop near you on HPL’s modified Bookmobile Schedule.

If I can't browse, how do I get library materials from the Bookmobile?
You can place holds, via our catalogue or call 905-546-3200 and staff can help you.

Do I need an appointment to collect my holds?
No. If you have received an email or phone call saying your holds are ready, you can pick them up at your chosen Bookmobile stop.

Can I enter the Bookmobile? Can I browse?
No. The Bookmobile isn’t open for browsing. A table is placed at each door of the Bookmobile; one for pickups and one for returns. Staff are at each table to assist you.

What happens if it's raining?
The Bookmobile will be there for you to pick up your holds, but please hold on to your returns.

Can I return my library materials to the Bookmobile?
Yes. A table is placed at each door of the Bookmobile. At one table you can pick up your holds and at the other you can return your library materials.

How do I know which holds are ready for pick up?
You’ll receive an email or phone call confirming the items are ready for pick up at your chosen Bookmobile stop. You can also log in to your account at myHPL to see which items are ready for pickup.
