Microfilm Readers

Many newspapers, directories, and records, held by Local History and Archives have been transferred to microfilm. Microfilm can’t leave the Library, so you’ll consult it on-site using one of two types of reader. Our analogue readers are best for browsing and taking notes. Our digital readers let you save images to a USB drive or print them (Library print fees apply). Please bring your own USB drive if you plan to save images. Below you’ll find a quick start guide, comprehensive documentation, and introductory videos for our digital readers. Staff are happy to help during your visit, but they may not be familiar with every feature of the equipment.
