Victoria Day Closure
All HPL branches are closed on Sunday, May 19, and Victoria Day, Monday, May 20. Bookmobile, Extended Access, and Study Hall services are unavailable. Regular service hours resume on Tuesday, May 21.
Teen Gaming Volunteer
Public libraries are community spaces. HPL offers teen gaming to facilitate positive interaction and engagement in library spaces while growing digital skills. HPL provides non-violent video games at a Teen rating or lower for gaming programs. HPL Teen Gaming Volunteers assist with the set-up, take-down and monitoring of gaming equipment as part of the Teen Hub Zone program.
Volunteer Qualifications:

Ages 14-18.

Tech savvy and comfortable with gaming consoles system such as Sony PlayStation 4, Xbox, Wii U.

Reliable and trustworthy.

Ability to communicate well with others.

Works well in a group setting.
Volunteer Responsibilities:

Set up and monitor gaming equipment.

Encourage other teens to participate.

Ensure gaming controllers are charged.

Take down equipment at end of program.

Location and Time Commitment:
February 8, 2024 – June 28, 2024 at:

Saltfleet Branch – Thursdays and Fridays 9:30-10:30am, 10:45-11:45 and 12-1pm

Must be available to volunteer at least one shift per week
